Nick Brusky’s Biography

Posted by admin, in Biography

Nick Brusky’s career has been focused on serving everyday people. His service on Amherst City Council has been focused on making the concerns of his constituents his number one priority while in office. While in office he has worked to make the voice of the taxpayer and the voice of the family heard in City Hall through the legislation that he has both created and supported.

Proven Leadership

Amherst voters have rewarded Brusky’s dedication to public service by electing him as Councilman-At-Large for three consecutive terms, and by making him the top vote-getter in 2003. Never one to turn away from a challenge, he has broken barriers by becoming the youngest elected official in the City of Amherst in 2001 at the age of 20. As a three term Councilman Brusky brings 6 years of continuous law-making experience to the table in the race. Through this experience, Brusky understands today’s process of how ideas are made into law, and how those laws can affect your family, your job, and even the taxes that you pay.

A Record of Protecting Taxpayers

Its no secret that Nick Brusky has the most solid record of protecting taxpayers among those running for Council-At-Large this year. Thanks to Brusky’s efforts in orginizing a countywide referendum petition, voters will have the right to vote on the sales tax increast that the County Commissioners recently passed. Since Nick Brusky first took office in 2001, not only have city tax rates stayed the same but the City hasn’t even had to go to the ballot to ask voters for more of their hard earned money. This is because Nick Brusky has been dedicated to doing more with what we have instead of taking more of what you have. During his service on Council, Nick Brusky twice has fought attempts to increase taxes.

Working to Make Government more Effective & Affordable

County Residents deserve the BEST services without going broke. As a Councilman in Amherst Nick Brusky has taken the lead by working together with Democrats, Republicans and Independents to make the community a more desirable place to raise a family and start a business. Nick Brusky’s hard work on Council helped contribute to Amherst being the 5th safest community out of 76 suburbs in the Cleveland area, while having the second lowest property taxes of those same suburbs.
